OUR STORY

Aiming to preserve the tales of the town, our gins are linked with the old folklores of the Great Ocean Road. Our location is one of the oldest buildings in town and the SS Casino anchor on-site makes our distillery a true miniature of Apollo Bay’s culture, heritage and nature. We are the only distillery on the Great Ocean Road, producing boutique and local gin.

OUR SPIRITS

Our onsite distillery produces exotic handcrafted gins using local botanicals. We use modern gin production techniques and different types of botanicals to make a product with the highest quality possible. Being the only gin distillery on the Great Ocean Road, our Apollo Bay Gin is a wonderful addition to our small local town.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY…

Apollo Bay Distillery sits at the end of the main street shopping area of Apollo Bay with a nice view over the foreshore. It has both open air and covered verandahs which are dog-friendly. We enjoyed very much the Gin Flight, a tasting of four of the distillery’s own gins, which came with a well-written description of each one. The staff gave good instructions for how to best enjoy the series of flavours. Our gin experience was accompanied by a serve of skinny fries with a spicy mayo, absolutely delicious.

We discovered the place by accident when we stopped in at Apollo Bar back in May. The gin was smooth, the staff are greta and the pizza is to die for! A must visit for anyone who likes food and booze.

After looking online at reviews for some of the other local pubs and breweries I’m glad we came here for our last night in Apollo Bay. Super Tasty pizza and great Gin cocktails! Some of the best calamari I’ve had. The staff were very nice and attentive and I hope to be back soon!

Went here for dinner and had a great couple of pizzas shared with my partner. The base was excellent and were extremely delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful and I’d recommend this as a good place to have a drink and a meal.

Went to Apollo Bay distillery not expecting anything, my wife and I love gin and have tried gins up and down the east cost found some great gins in Tasmania. When we arrived in the we found that the distillery was in the old post office, very cute. The food was good, there was five of us and we tried a selection of there to share and a prawn pizza. For me I judge a restaurant by how good their arancini balls are and they were great. Had the gin flight including the navy and decided to buy one of the Australian and the navy. A great little distillery and worth a visit.

My second visit here, the woodfired pizzas are delicious and the truffle fries to die for. We also had the gin taster and the gins were amazing! Wonderful friendly service to top it off, highly recommend a visit here.

My girlfriend has recently had to go dairy free and gluten free and it has been such a culture shock and a strain on where we can go eat. The staff were lovely and helped us to get her a delicious pizza. Thank you again as we have come from Geelong for her Birthday. Cheers!

I would rate this place five stars for the coffee alone, but the food was also great and the service was friendly. We tried a few items from the lunch menu and they were a perfect balance of interesting and delicious. We plan to go back so that we can try the pizzas and gin. But realistically, if all I ever had was the coffee I’d still keep coming back, it’s a little cup of pure joy.
